Professor Dr. sc. med. Marina Nikitović – Editor of the newly released textbook “Clinical Oncology and Radiotherapy”

We are pleased to highlight a significant academic achievement by Full Professor Dr. sc. med. Marina Nikitović, a distinguished member and Working Group Leader within our RadExIORSBoost Twinning Horizon Europe Project.

Prof. Nikitović has served as Editor of the newly released textbook “Clinical Oncology and Radiotherapy”, published by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade in July 2025. This textbook was developed in collaboration with the Departments of Clinical Oncology and Radiotherapy, Epidemiology, and Medical and Clinical Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, integrating comprehensive and contemporary knowledge across key areas of oncology.

Importantly, several chapters were co-authored by our project team members Dr. Aleksandar Stepanović, MD, PhD, and Dr. Jelena Stanić, MD, both active contributors within the project, whose expertise helped shape the textbook’s multidisciplinary scope.

While primarily intended for sixth-year medical students, the textbook serves as an invaluable resource for:
– Residents in radiation, medical, and surgical oncology
– Subspecialists in oncology
– Physicians across all specialties seeking to strengthen or update their understanding of modern oncology.

Beyond the integration of core clinical and therapeutic oncological principles, the chapters also emphasize the relevance of fundamental radiobiological concepts, offering learners a deeper grasp of the biological underpinnings that inform therapeutic decision-making and radiotherapy planning.

Prof. Nikitović’s editorial leadership is commendable for its clarity, academic precision, and pedagogical depth. Published in record time, the textbook reflects a cohesive and future-oriented approach to oncology education.
