Specific objectives
-
Objective 1
To develop and implement institutional Scientific Strategy on radiobiology to significantly increase IORS research excellence in this field through the transfer of new knowledge from top-class leading partner institutions from Germany, United Kingdom, Austria, and Slovenia.
-
Objective 2
To examine and further develop predictors of patients’ individual normal tissue radiosensitivity by combining gene and miRNA expression in patient-derived peripheral blood mononuclear cells (using RNA sequencing), radiation-induced lymphocyte apoptosis (RILA), and radiation-induced DNA damage levels and DNA repair activity (comet assay and γ-H2AX assay), and to design a high-quality clinical study which will lead to personalized radiation treatment approach.
-
Objective 3
To raise the research capacity of the researchers from IORS and partner institutions by realization of comprehensive training programme.
-
Objective 4
To strengthen administrative and research management skills of IORS staff and to upgrade the administrative unit for international cooperation and projects at IORS.
-
Objective 5
To manage project successfully.
-
Objective 6
To build sustainable communication channels and dissemination of the project results among the scientists of relevant research areas, project stakeholders, and public.
