Doz. Dr. Elena Sperk – administrative visit at IORS, Belgrade, 27-28 July 2026

RadExIORSBoost team at the Institute for Oncology and Radiology of Serbia was honored to host Doz. Dr. Elena Sperk on 27 and 28 July 2026.Dr. Sperk is the Managing Director of the Mannheim Cancer Center, Clinical Trials Unit, Medical Faculty Mannheim, Heidelberg University.As part of the administrative visit within the RadExIORSBoost project, Dr. Sperk delivered an inspiring lecture “Investigator-initiated-trials (IIT) – The long road from the initial idea to publication”.  She also visited our Department of Experimental Oncology and Department for Radiotherapy of Solid Tumors. The visit concluded with productive discussions and a tour through the historical heart of Belgrade.During her visit, RadExIORSBoost project team members had the opportunity to learn about the organizational structure and main activities of the Study Center of the Mannheim Cancer Center and key aspects of clinical trial design. Dr. Sperk and IORS team leaders discussed the most important steps for the effective management of clinical studies and research projects in oncology and radiation oncology.The RadExIORSBoost project team would like to express its sincere gratitude to Dr. Sperk for sharing her time, knowledge, and immense expertise with our team.
